The main aim of data visualisation is to help people understand the significance of data by placing it in a visual context. Data visualisation is more than graphs and charts nowadays. It is now displayed in detail such as infographics and maps. Sometimes the interactive images allows the viewers to manipulate them or to search for key insights. Visualisation of data can be seen as a important part in business these days due to typically quick and easy operation in advanced analytics projects. This pictorial or graphical format of data simplifies the complex algorithms and it is also easier to interpret than numerical outputs which is related to they way the human brain processes information.
Tekja is one of the data visualization company focusing on both design and technology to turn data into knowledge. They have provided several interactive data visualizations, installations and data-driven web applications for organizations. One of the animation project – ‘Our lives in Data’ by the Science Museum was to uncover the diverse ways of collected and used data from our lives. The animation contains and reveals the amount of data hold in Oyster Card. By working closely with Tfl, they were able to create an animation from collected key insights which displayed the patterns found in the journeys across London in one day.
Data visualisation is going to change the way our analysts work with data. They are going to be expected to respond to issues more rapidly.
