After watching ‘Big Data Revolution’ documentary by PBS, I discovered there are some contrariety between scientific theory and what I feel in real life. I came up with a very basic question, What is Big data? Theoritically, this simple word contains all the information of where we live, where we go, what we buy, what we say. It’s all being recorded and stored forever. This is the story of an almost invisibly through our lives and about develop a nervous system with each of us.
Our lives can be dated before the explosion of data and after. This is not an issue of climate change, health or jobs. It’s all issues everything has information at the core. Everything so if information matters, then reorganizing the entire information network of the planet is wiring up. Billions of connected elements that are going to exchange to ideas, points of knowledge, and ways of working together. In other words, people in India, China and Africa, the world has a lot more minds connected in the simplest, least expensive possible way to make the world better.
The more information we get, the larger the problems will be that we saw. Every powerful too has a dark side. Every last one is going to change the world. One of major issue could be an intrusion of privacy. To gather enormous of information, People have to allow their data to be used in all will. It could be uncomfortable to people who think those information is private to themselves. The China governemt has announced they will monitor everything you do, amasses huge amounts of data on almost every interaction you make, and awards you a single score that measures how “trustworthy” you are. They say good behaviour will be rewarded and bad behaviour punished through the Social Network Society activities. This is what China calls “Internet Plus,” but critics call a 21st-century police state. For me, this seems like the person who has all the information is trying to harm you in any way he wants. There is no doubt that Big data is innovative and practical technology, but we should know its dark side.
